The Plum Lake trail links the Boulder Junction Bicycle Trail to the town of Sayner, and St. Germain. The paved Plum Lake trail extends from McKay's Corner Store down Highway N, crosses Plum Creek's charming wooden bridge, and continues into the town of Sayner. The trail then turns right at Froelich Drive and continues to the Sayner/Star Lake Chamber of Commerce Building, where it turns right and links to the St. Germain Township boundary.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation awarded the Town of Plum Lake Plum a $280,000 federal grant to extend the existing bicycle trails between Boulder Junction and the Crystal Lake and Muskellunge Lake campgrounds to the town of Sayner.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Stewartship Fund awarded the Town of Plum Lake a $58,000 grant. The Sayner/Star Lake Chamber of Commerce and Plum Lake Lions Club generated $ 68,000 in donations and fund-raising proceeds for matching funds for the two grants.
