If you're heading to Sayner-Star Lake for a summer getaway, it's likely that you have questions about the many outdoor recreation opportunities that are available in our neck of the woods!  We want your experience with us to be as laid back and easy as possible.  Here are a few frequently asked questions and the answers you're looking for!

When are the state campgrounds opening?

Please visit the Wisconsin DNR's Camping in State Parks and Forests page for updates and to make reservations.

I'd like to have a campfire.  Are there any burning restrictions?

That's an excellent question!  Conditions can change daily, so check the DNR's burning restrictions map to see what's currently allowed.

Is there parking near the paved bike trail?

Yes, there's parking near the trail (at the intersection of Froelich Drive and County Hwy N as well as right off Razorback Road) as well as places to stay, excellent shopping, dining and other attractions that offer a great spot for a pit stop.  View Sayner-Star Lake’s portion of the trail here.

I hear Sayner-Star Lake has great hiking.  Are there maps available?

You've got that right!  Sayner-Star Lake has a number of scenic hiking trails for all to enjoy.  Trail maps are available at many of the Sayner-Star Lake businesses or can be requested when you order a free Visitor Guide

What's the best lake for fishing?

From smallmouth and largemouth bass to musky, northern pike, walleye and panfish - we've asked around and have put together a few tips for some of the best fishing in Sayner-Star Lake.

Is there a golf course nearby?

You don't have to travel far! You'll find a beautiful and historic 9-hole golf course right in Sayner at the Plum Lake Golf Club.

Where can I find a public swimming beach?

If you're looking for crystal clear water, a beautiful sandy beach and picnic area to spend the day, you'll find it at Crystal Lake, about 5 miles west of Sayner.
