A lake of a different color
As the story goes, Plum Lake got its name from the color the lake takes on at sunset. The beautiful thousand-acre lake is located just north of downtown Sayner. Boaters and fishermen can access the lake via landings on the north, south and west sides of the lake. The lake contains musky, panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike and walleye.
The lake hosts free waterskiing shows during the summer—the Plum Ski-ters Water Ski Show Team performs on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. During the show, you can watch the water take on the purple color that gave the lake its name.
