Enjoy the Scenic Route

Some of the state’s most scenic driving can be found on the quiet forested roads that surround the Sayner-Star Lake area. Rustic Road 60 is considered one of the state’s most beautiful drives and it passes right through Sayner-Star Lake. It’s a lightly-traveled route that follows County Highway K, northwest of Star Lake. The route passes old logging camps, hiking trailheads and an old saw mill in Star Lake.

State Highway 155 south of Sayner is another scenic drive, heading past the shore of Lost Lake, south to St. Germain. Sayner-Star Lake’s central location in Vilas County is ideal for day trips to take in natural beauty – the county is home to more than 1,300 lakes and 60+ trails and all are an easy, scenic drive away.
